Students (Past and present) and their supporters played Barber's Adagio for strings at a play-in to oppose the planned closure of the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama's junior department. The performance took place 18th May 2024. The college announced the closure (subject to statutory consultation period) which eventually lead to the loss of 112 jobs and tuition for more than 400 children, many of whom receive bursaries to help with the cost of lessons.
