The school’s official catchment area is Cowbridge, Llanblethian, Ystradowen, Welsh St. Donats, Trerhyngyll and Maendy. Subject to places being available at the school, and by agreement with the Governing Body, children may be admitted from outside the official catchment area until the current intake number (37 pupils per year group) is reached.

Ysgol Iolo Morganwg is the Welsh Medium Primary School located on the outskirts of the market town of Cowbridge serving the entire rural Vale.  Pupils come from an area extending from Bridgend in the west to the outskirts of Cardiff and Barry in the east.  It includes the ancient towns of Llantwit Major and Cowbridge, large villages such as St Athan and Rhoose, and a whole host of small villages and settlements which are scattered throughout the Vale of Glamorgan. Pupils are taught through the medium of Welsh with English being introduced in Year 3.

Ti a Fi Playgroup is for babies up to about 3 yrs old.  Held in Ysgol Iolo Morganwg, currently Friday pm from 1.30 to 3pm

The school serves a large rural area. It has ten established feeder primary schools, from which the majority of pupils at the school have transferred.Approximately 1,000 pupils between the ages of 11 and 16 study at the school for their GCSE exams, with more than 300 students in the Sixth Form studying for the Welsh Baccalaureate Qualification, AS-Level and A-Level exams.
